Meera, twelve years old, opened the old radio on her veranda, cleaned its dust with a dry brush, and found a single loose wire. She did not know the names of the parts, but she traced the wire with her finger, tightened it, and the radio sang again. Soon neighbours brought her broken torches, clocks and toys — not because she claimed to be an expert, but because she tried, observed and did not fear opening a thing to understand it. Her teacher later said the real repair was not of the radio but of an attitude: the belief that broken things are worth examining before they are thrown away.
