Question:

Which statement about RAW image files is INCORRECT? / RAW

RAW files retain unprocessed sensor data at higher bit depth than JPEG / RAW

RAW files are standardised across all camera manufacturers and open identically in every viewer / RAW

RAW files allow non-destructive white-balance correction after capture / RAW

RAW files are typically much larger than JPEGs of the same scene / RAW

Correct Answer: RAW files are standardised across all camera manufacturers and open identically in every viewer / RAW

RAW is a proprietary, manufacturer-specific container (NEF, CR2, ARW and others), not a universal standard, and each needs matching decoding software. The other statements are true: higher bit depth, post-capture white balance, and large file sizes.
